Self-Feeding

Elizabeth has decided that it's time to start feeding herself. I think she still needs a little work on this new skill. She is eating solid food now (although not allowed to feed herself with the spoon - for obvious reasons), which includes carrots, green beans, and bananas.

Green Beans

Here's Elizabeth after her first taste of green beans. The photo is a little blurry, but that's because Elizabeth gets so excited about eating new food that she wiggles and kicks her legs.

Carrots

Last night, Elizabeth tried carrots for the first time. I think she liked them, since she ate the whole portion (only about 2 t.).

Happy 6-Month Birthday!

Elizabeth has been with us now for 6 months, and she has a lot to show for it! She is now 25.5 inches long, weighs 16 pounds, 10 ounces, and has a head circumference of 17.5" - all of these are average on the growth charts, except the head circumference (90th percentile). I hope she's not smarter or taller than her parents :)

Milestones so far include rolling over (from her back to her tummy), sitting with a little assistance, being able to grab things and move them around, and making all sorts of interesting noises. She received 6 vaccinations today, so I will no doubt be busy soothing her for the next couple of days.

International Elizabeth Photos

Here's Elizabeth with Daddy in Regent's Park in London. The park houses the London zoo, many soccer fields, and beautiful English gardens.

Here we are in front of one of four huge lions in Trafalgar Square and in front of the National Gallery. The gallery itself is impressive, with paintings from the 1200s through the late 1800s. I only got through the "modern art" section (1700-1890), featuring works from Degas, Monet, Renoir, and several others.

Here's Elizabeth at the Roman Colosseum. I think she slept through most of the visit, but we had fun exploring this structure, as well as nearby Palantine Hill and the Roman Forum.

Here's a cute photo of Elizabeth playing with herself in the mirror. We were in Rome in the hotel room when this photo was taken.

Elizabeth and I at the monastary where St. Francis of Assisi stayed. Very peaceful.

Just another castle in Tuscany. More pictures will be available tomorrow on Winnacker.com.

Elizabeth in Italy

Here's a picture of Elizabeth and I in the garden at the house in Bettole, Italy. We stayed here for about a week with Elizabeth's grandparents, Auntie Hanako and Uncle Mark, exploring the local towns and countryside.

World Traveller

Elizabeth is enjoying her first international trip. She's visited Tuscany, Rome, and London so far. We are on our way home and will post lots of cute photographs soon. Oh, and Elizabeth cut TWO now teeth while we were in Bettolle, Italy!
