Tilden Park Never Disappoints

Is there nothing more exciting to a little one than feeding a friendly goat or the huge cows on a farm? Elizabeth and Helen seemed to get a kick out of it, and quickly depleted our stock of lettuce and celery.

Afterward, we went on a hike to Jewel Lake in the Tilden Nature Area, which the kids love because it is full of bridges and boardwalks and all sorts of neat trees. Surprisingly, Elizabeth walked most of the way.

About a third of the way along the Pack Rat Trail (the one taking us back to the start point), Helen decided that she wanted to walk, too. This was most fortunate, as the trail became quite narrow, as we walked between a series of very narrow paths between trees and had a couple other trees to climb over.

And there were mud puddles to play in, since it had rained the day before.
