Leaps and Bounds

I can't find the battery for my camera, so no new photos of Helen.

However, Helen has just grown in leaps and bounds this week. She is really walking: all over the place and just can't stop from walking! Also, she is able to indicate her wants with gestures, which is a real cognitive milestone.

Where Did She Learn That?

Oh, I know! She must have learned that from her big sister.

Helen is walking now, although she still resorts to crawling when she wants to get somewhere really quickly. It's very busy around here nowadays; the days are filled with exploring and coloring, reading and singing.

Hiding Out

Elizabeth and Helen like to crawl under the kitchen table and sneak up on whoever is sitting in the "command chair." It was all good, clean fun until they stashed some markers under there and just went crazy (Helen, mostly, I think).

Action Shot

Helen loves to walk, while holding on to something with wheels. At home, we have the shopping cart and in Copperopolis, we have this little push truck. Helen gives her favorite bear a ride on the truck (this outdoor toy is inside because it was just too hot to play outside).

Helen has started walking on her own. On Aug 30, she took three steps. On Aug 31, she took four and five steps. She's getting better every day, and she will be running after Elizabeth before I know it!
