Already Three Years Old

Elizabeth started her birthday off right, opening her birthday presents within a few minutes of waking up. Auntie Hanako's magnetic dolls were a huge hit, and everyone enjoyed playing with them -- even Mommy!

It's hard to believe that three years ago, Elizabeth was such a tiny baby and I was holding her in her newness in a hospital bed. Children do really grow so quickly, from helpless infants, to drooly crawlers, then to tottering little people, and then into cute little girls. I hope that Elizabeth never loses her sweetness.

Another Happy Birthday!

Helen enjoyed celebrating he obasan's birthday this year at the Carnelian Room in San Francisco. Despite the large gash on her chin--received at home while climbing on the furniture--she had a wonderful time.
